Young inexpensive tutor with modernized teaching strategies

By working with elementary students I have exhibited that I am capable of vast patience, so I am willing to work as long as the student would require. I teach every student different, so my initial goal would be to learn about the student and find out their favorite methods of instruction.
Currently a student pursuing a Master's in Accounting and my CPA. I am a double major in Business Administration and Accounting from Transylvania University. I have worked with elementary aged students since I was about 16 years old and I have now progressed into tutoring high school and college students.

A Little Bit About Me...

First, I evaluate the student's comprehension of the subject at issue and how the student achieved his/her conclusion, which gives me an insight as to how to approach teaching the student. The student should be taught in simple terms and provided with the necessary tools to tackle and truly understand the subject. In addition, I feel that it is very important to make the student at ease with asking questions, especially questions they aren't comfortable with asking in class, along with the ability to ensure the student is grasping the information.
While in law school I mentored and tutored first year law students along with students at a neighboring high school. I have a love of learning and teaching and it shows in my classes. I have tutored my 11 year old daughter in math for the last 3 years. This year we are doing pre-algebra. I believe in evaluating a student from what they know and then see if I can teach them any ways to shorten what they do or try to bring it up or down to their level of understanding. I have a recent Bachelor's in Accounting, as well as 15+ years of accounting experience in both private and non-profit settings. While working at Thornhill Education Center, I had the opportunity to work with students and help teach GED classes. My main focus was math. I also had the opportunity to teach a level 1 accounting class for community education.
I don't think I have really developed a "unique style" by only teaching a year or so. I am a very patient person and I really like to see the "sparkle" in a students eye, when they truly understand something for the 1st time. I like to explain a concept and then give the student a problem and see if they get it. If not, I will go over as many times necessary...until they understand the material.
