I love helping children learn new things. I get so excited when I see the "light bulb" go off. I love to find different ways to teach children to learn old things. I graduated from one of the top ranked schools in the nation for education, Miami University (Ohio). I earned my bachelor's degree there. I have been teaching children that have learning disabilities for ten years. I also have worked with children that have severe emotional problems. A Little Bit About Me...

As a parent concerned about the condition of the public school system we decided to homeschool our last two children. I began teaching them in the first grade and have continued up to, and including, the present time. My son is now a high school freshman and my daughter is in the eighth grade. During this time I helped start a homeschool cooperative. We wanted to continue homeschooling our children, but we also wanted to provide them with more choices taught by someone experienced, or having an expertise in an area. A Little Bit About Me...

Having obtained a Communications degree from college, I was quite driven to help students who faced challenges in the areas of reading/writing. Further, I had extensive experience in Title I and Reading Labs, even on the college campus where I studied. Later, I earned my Master's degree and did research to assist me in understanding the pervasive issue of a higher incidence of language difficulties faced by these students versus that realized in Math. During the past years, I have taught high school and college English courses to students who have been identified as needing assistance in Reading and writing.
