Elementary is one of my top subjects!

The child chooses the style. What I mean by this is that every child is different and every one of them learn differently. Teaching on a more personal level is how to aid the best results.
My experience started in my high school years helping my brother and sisters with homework while our mom was working. Presently I am employed at a day care center/ school, were everyday is spent engaged with the kids and their educational needs. I love interacting with the children at work so much so, that the idea of taking on tutoring sounds more so like a new hobby.

My comments on tutoring Elementary : Earned Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education from University of Memphis in 1991. Taught in preschool from 1992 until 1993 in Concord, CA. Taught my own children from Kindergarten through 12th grade.

After graduating from University of Memphis, I moved to California and taught in a Montessori preschool until beginning my own family. To be able to work at home, I managed a small 24 unit apartment complex for 4 years. After my third child, I began homeschooling my own children in grades K-12th grade and have for the last 10 years. I plan to continue until all have graduated.
My teaching style includes more than one style because different children learn in different ways. For example, a child may learn by doing(I would use the demonstration-performance method). Another may be an auditory learner where I would use the lecture method, on a child's age level of course. While a different child may be a visual learner and in that case I would use many visual aids as well as do a lot of independent reading. Without testing, I would not know the child's exact learning style and therefo ... read more

I will help improve your child's grades or your money back

I prefer to figure out how the student learns the best personally, whether through just hearing it or being shown examples and anything and everything in-between. I want to teach students how to not only memorize the material but actually understand the material so they will be able to use that as building blocks forward in their education.
I'm currently attending Jones County Junior College through online classes. I will be attending Hinds Community College in the spring of 2012. Experienced elementary school teacher

I believe the first step in academic success is building self esteem and confidence. Learning should be engaging and fun. My students come to enjoy learning and gaining confidence as they grow and become better readers.
I have taught first through third grades for many years. Most of my experience is with elementary students. I now work with principals and teachers across the state to improve classroom instruction. I have also worked specifically with third graders to prepare them for the State Test. Each summer I am involved with the Read to Succeed camp where I work with students who have not passed the third grade end of the year test. The students retake the test after our camp and the vast majority pass and are promoted to the fourth grade. My schedule is very flexible.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate in Counselor Education from a Private Christian University it has been my observation that the ability to grasp new concepts, possess moral values, developing emotional intelligence, learn how to work with others as a team player and learn new learning technology is pivitol in order to be successful in life. As a mental health therapist, teaching others life skills and academic skills is my life long mission.
As we continue learning in the 21st century it is obvious how cutting edge technology, child’s learning style, and a child’s personality temperament all play a role in a child’s success in their success in life. Gaining or not developing these skills will ultimately influence their ability to graduate or not graduate from a good college and be a successful person in society. My job as your child's tutor is to be technology savvy, the ability to teach your child ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

My capacity for learning and teaching is unlimited and extensive. I focus more on the students’ cognitive and social skills by making them more attentive and making sure they are able to comprehend the materials that is taught to them. My experience as a Case Counselor requires me to engage with the student who has special needs. I teach them how to interact with others. Next, as a Substitute teacher I am able to keep the children engaged in their work as their Permanent teacher is absent. Lastly, as a certified Biologist I will help them investigate the world associating biological and non biological entities surrounding them.
I received my BS degree in Biology in 2007 and I also minored in Chemistry at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. The education that was taught to me, I would like to use this very same tool that sharpened my mind to help the young minds of thos ... read more

More About This Tutor...

I am enthustiac about teaching and learning. I have no doubt in my mind that every child can learn. They can achieve their goals no matter what, if given an opportunity. I am a very driven and determined person who is there to ensure quality of education. My teaching style is hands-on, manipulatives. When children use items they can identify with they are more likely to understand the concept better. I let every student know they can achieve. There are many educators in the world but there are very few who care if the child succeeds or not.I want to make a difference in a child's life as well as their education. I ensure that I give my best to them so that they can give me their best in return. All students can learn.

A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy working with children and teaching children because I believe each child has his/her own uniqueness about them. I am not a pencil and paper educator. I believe the most creative mind is discovered through hands on activities and using manipulatives and other resources to help a child learn basic skills to reading and mathematics. I am patient, understanding, and considerate of each child's individual needs. I also believe that it takes a village to raise a child and we need more dedicated educators to help build a successful future for our babies.
I have a Political Science degree from Lousiana State University and I had planned to use that degree to get into Law School. At Millsaps, I was a member of Beta Beta Beta which is a biology honor society. As a member, I was responsible for tutoring underclassmen for two years. I spent much of my time at Millsaps coming up with a system of studying and organization which I shared with numerous others. Teaching others is most effective when you can convince someone that the material is actually easy. That is what I do. I make it as easy as possible by organizing the material in a way which shows the student that the material isn't infinite. We then chip away at it. This has proven to be most effective for me as a teacher to keep the student motivated and even excited.
During my four years at Millsaps, I gained much more than my degree. I learned how to take vast amounts of information and structure it in a way that allowed me to memorize and retain it. To exit Millsaps College, it is necessary to ... read more

As as 2010 graduate, I was determined to work for and earn my bachelor degree, not sure what area I wanted to study. I do not hold a degree in the education field, but I have always held a position whether being a Teacher Assistant, or Substitute Teacher. I have learned with great extense and patience how to work with students making sure they are striving to reach for the stars. Children are my passion, therefore, I must put every piece of energy I have into their lives by being an example, a great educator, and making sure nothing but positive words are being spoken from their mouth.
I hold a passion for and driven to put all the energy I have into children, no matter what their current learning style is. A Little Bit About Me...

My motto is simple: In all of your getting, get an understanding. I truly belive that every child can learn. Even a child with a disadvantage still comes with an advantage because they are always getting some help. It also depends on the child also. We must both be focused on the task at hand and together we must tackle it until it is thoroughly understood.
For the last past six years I have enjoyed my students. They never cease to amaze me with all the many things that they can grasp when you try. I was an assistant in JPS. Tutoring was my job. I have also tutored other grades up to fifth. I really enjoy kids and I always wish the best for them. I have also had to be the actual teacher for the remainder of the school year and did grades and end of the school year things due to the teachers' emergency leave.
