I have currently worked at the Herkimer ARC for the past eight years. I have alot of experience working with people with disabilites from severe Mental Retardation, Cerebal Palsy,Autism, Learning Disability and Mental Heath. I have obtained a degree from Herkimer College in applied science with a minor in education. I also went to Mohawk Valley Community College for two years to obtain a degree in Nursing. I am a very caring open individual who loves to help people. I am looking for part time employment to start a college fun for my three year old daughter. I have years of experience training new employess at the Herkimer ARC.
I am a hands on teacher. I can verbally explain things and then i like to utilize different techniques to ensure the children understand what i am explaning. I am opening to different teaching styles because each child learns differently.

I have always loved helping people, especially in the way of education. I believe that everyone learns differently, and therefore strive for diversity in teaching. During this past school year I was a practicum student in a second and third grade self contained 15-1 classroom. This placement gave me the opportunity to teach math, science, and reading to students with learning disabilities and various instructional needs. During student teaching I taught in a fifth grade regular education classroom as well as in a learning workshop. My experience in the fifth grade helped me to hone my teaching style as well as explore behavior management techniques. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature with a minor in journalism from Oswego State University. While in school I studied psychology and child development as well as great works of literature.
