Let's get back down to the basics (Latin, History, Science)

I like to boil things down to the basics. With Latin and Science that means learning as much as one can about the basic elements and then building one step at a time on those basics. In history, it means learning the story, and telling the story.
I recieved a BA degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I majored in Classical Civilization (with a Latin Concentration) and History. I have 12 years of experience teaching Latin. The courses I have taught include introductory courses, Latin I, Latin II, and Latin III. 3 years of Life Science teaching experience. 4 years of History teaching experience (as a tour guide and history interpreter) 12 years of experience teaching writing as well.

A Little Bit About Me...

My greatest strength as a tutor is that I know what it is like to have no knowledge of a foreign language. Thus, I am able to diagnose the particular difficulties a student is having and provide appropriate guidance in resolving those difficulties. I believe in repetition and drills, both written and spoken. In addition, I also believe in using the target language as much as possible. I will encourage students to use what knowledge they have of the target language in order to communicate with me. I love teaching people French. When I was in high I worked as a French teacher aid and that when I feel in love with teaching French to people. While I was in college I worked as a French tutor for 4 years. I am patient, easy going, and considerate person. Trust me I knew the stress and frustration that arise when you are learning a new language. I learn to speak and write English the US. I believe everybody can learn a new language.
