My comments on tutoring English ESOL : I've been teaching English as a Second language for more than 8 years, working in multicultural environment. I am a teacher who is sensitive and attentive to my students' learner needs, able to provide supportive and positive learning environment for students from different backgrounds and cultures.

Everyone can learn - it just takes the right presentation!

I am a behavioral specialist with 12 years of experience working with individuals between the ages of 2 and 19 who have been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD, Traumatic Brain Injury, emotional disturbance, Autism, Downs Syndrome, and other developmental disorders. This is what I love doing, and I have the patience to reteach in multiple ways over multiple days. Over the past 5 years I have taught English Language Arts to sixth graders, and tutored in all 6th grade subject areas while using positive reinforcement to enhance productivity. In September, I will be sitting for the certification exam to become a board certified behavior analyst (BCBA). I believe that everyone can learn and everyone has their strengths. We just have to figure out how to let their inner scholar come out to play.

Although I currently work as an Administrator, I have extensive teaching experience with all grade levels from PreK to adults. I have spent most of my tenure as a bilingual teacher, often teaching Spanish, English I-IV, and Speech during the summer sessions. I spent my last five years of teaching as a Bilingual Interventionist which allowed me to acquire intensive training in working with bilingual and ESL dyslexic students.
