While obtaining my Bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri, along with being a competitive gymnast, I worked for the Total Person Program in the atheltic department tutoring and mentoring student-athletes in many subjects. I have a passion for working with children and watching them learn, grow, and succeed at tasks. I have 10 years experience coaching gymnastics and working with children from infant to high school age. I am quite fond of children and their amazing desire and ability to learn. I think that education is one of the most important aspect of a child's upbringing and any contribution that I can make would be very gratifying. I think children differ in their learning styles and I am flexible to work with children who are visual learners through diagrams, colors and charts, or with children who are learn through memorization and application. As a tutor with Webster University's student literacy corps, I worked with individuals, pre-K-adult, on reading, literacy, and writing skills. I held this position for two years along with a summer position tutoring Algebra and French with HEC Upward Bound, which service at-risk youth. I found both programs extremely enjoyable and found that all of my students were eager to learn and improve their skill set.
It has been my experience that each student has his/her individuals needs and that each learns differently.
