With a wide range of experience in the teaching field, I am able to provide a learning environment to students with differing learning modalities. With a master’s degree and two bachelor degrees, I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of positions in the education field. I enjoy earnest and humble students, learning with and from them. I feel uncomfortable not learning laterally as well as vertically, seeing that to be knowledgeable, one must not just memorize but ruminate on what was memorized, making as many lateral connections as expedient. I like to simply direct and expand a student's learning as opposed to an artifactual accomplishment; however, my premiere obligation is punctual achievement of task. I am qualified to tutor writing, basic computer, reading, basic math, learning, biology, organic chemistry, genetics, geography, and various exams, all from college-level experiences. I have experience in leadership studies, childhood education, and working with students who have special needs or less prepared for college. I have worked as a teacher in three settings, preschool, science, and with teenage women on parole and probation in a residential treatment facility. Currently I work in higher education developing college students to become young leaders and have a wide array of experiences working with students. My teaching experience ranges from serving as a special education itinerant teacher (SEIT) for young children with special needs to teaching high school English. I am certified in PreK-6 elementary education, English, and special education.
