Teacher with gentle touch - Very good at explaining new subj

Web manager and usability analyst as well as instructor. I have been asked at various jobs to teach training classes to my peers because of my ability to deliver an easy to understand lesson. I've been told I am very good at explaining a topic that someone has no experience with at all. I am on contract with NC States Computer Training Unit.
I try to find the teaching style that is going to work for the student. Are they visual? Do they need to touch to learn? Finding out how to teach them and then helping them learn skills for independent study are just as important as the material.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am a highly skilled math student, with a degree in computer science from Clemson University. I have about 2 years of private tutoring experience in Math where I taught the student from Freshman to Junior year in high school. I really love sharing my ideas with students and help them learn the subject efficiently.
I developed some tricks and techniques on my own which have really helped me in solving problems very fast. I will be happy to share some with the student if he/she is willing to learn. The student needs to be hard working because I am not there to give them a magic formula to solve problems. They will be able to learn to apply their analytical abilities and solve problems with proper reasoning. I have rarely used textbooks in Math, the only reason I used books was to find more problems to solve.

All who wish to learn have but to ask for help. I believe anyone can learn anything they want and that no one deserves to be told otherwise. In tutoring math, the individual needs to have their homework present and, if available, old/recent tests so they may learn from the past as well as the present. Math adds unto itself, so understanding previous rules and equations are necessary for applying them to future classes. Once the basics are covered properly, seeing to the need for current classes will become much easier and enjoyable. I tutor by example, or refining what has been taught, in such a way that the individual can understand math in day to day events, or how its applied to his/her interests.

My teaching style is one in which I believe I can find the success of all students. I believe that each student has their own way of learning, whether it be hands on, visual, or by repetition of hearing. I like to interact with my students to pull forth their potential in which they may not see in themselves. As a graduate of Elizabeth City State University, I pursued an education in Computer Science with a minor in mathematics. I have gained experience in the these two fields in which I excel in. I have had experience tutoring young children at my church(math), as well as helping other peers during my tenure at Elizabeth City State University.
