When it comes to my teaching style, I prefer to meet a student and take the first meetings to really get to know them, their learning styles and find out what goals we need to realistically set. A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked in the Education field for 9 years. I started off as a substitute teacher and later became a "permanent substitute" in 2002. In this same year, I also became a class monitor for Psycho-Edu with the Johnson Co. School System. These jobs both required me to help teach elementary students in every subject.
My goal as a teacher is to help children appreciate learning and have fun while doing. I beleive that we all learn in different ways and a person should use a learning strategy that works best for them. I am available to help your child succeed academically. No two people learn alike. Everyone has their own learning style and in my years of teaching, I was able to adapt my teaching style to the style of learning that was sufficient for my students. I earned a bachelors in management in 1994 after earning 2 Associate Degrees; one in Paralegal Studies and the other in Legal Secretarial Studies. The classes I had to take to earn these degrees prepared me to be able to become a substitute teacher at the elementary school level (K-5). My experience and training has allowed me to become very good in writing correspondence and thus my knowledge in the correct use of grammar, spelling and vocabulary will help me in tutoring students in these areas.
