I graduated on December 16th, 2011 from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore with a bachelors degree in Music Education with Cum Laude Honors (3.4 GPA). I student taught for sixteen weeks from August 22nd, 2011 thru December 2nd, 2011. My first eight weeks I worked at a middle school and taught symphonic band, beginner band, and private lessons. During these eight weeks, I gained much experience working with students at all levels and abilities and reached the potential of every student to the best I could. My next eight weeks I worked with elementary students at three different schools. This was a great experiece because I built the foundation of some many future musicians and was able to teach students on multiple instruments with various teaching strategies. Since my years as an undergraduate student, one of my passions has always been giving back to the community through tutoring and mentoring.
