A Little Bit About Me...

I search for the light bulb that hasn't yet gone off in my students. Rote memorization by my students just to get a grade doesn't satisfy me, although that happens with some. I thoroughly enjoy the intellectual challenge of trying to stimulate my students and interest them in the learning process. I probe; I question; I challenge; I confront. If the student doesn't "get it", then my first assumption is that I'm not doing something right, and I need to try again. I may fail, but not for lack of trying or interest!
I have extensive experience in all areas of corporate accounting and financial and cost analysis as a management consultant and line manager. I love all children. I believe all children learn in different ways. it's up to us to determine what workds for them and help them acquire the knowledge they need. Teaching others cannot be defined by one style of teaching. The way to teach is by learning first how the student receives the information. Auditory learners and Visual learners require two different methods of teaching. The key is to make the information understandable to the student by breaking the information down in any format. Knowledge is power and satisfaction. I remember the feeling I get from learning something new and grasping the subject and I want others to feel this exciting feeling too.
