I enjoy teaching with individuals of all ages. I believe that every person should learn something new everyday and to succeed in doing this all that is needed is a common link. My patience and determination show to my students that I am there to help them. Coupling this with a view at the big picture helps a teacher better understand which ways a student learns. Since all students do not learn in the same manner it is pertinent to establish a game plan in the first meeting and help them work through any difficulties that they may learning the subject manner. At Amherst College, we were encouraged to pursue a wide variety of subjects in addition to our major. I studied math for several years, some Biology, Latin and Greek. I had a semester of graduate school at Iowa in Classics. At Tulane, I studied advanced statistics as well as marketing. I had two years of Spanish at DMACC. I also studied Bosnian and German at DMPS Continuing Education. For all standardized tests, I always scored in the top 1% including the PSAT, SAT, ACT and GMAT. I have been tutoring students in Spanish, English Literature, Chemistry, Math and Government.
I really enjoy getting people of all ages to learn. My day job is with Easter Seals where I work with all ages and disabilities. A Little Bit About Me...

I have tutored and mentored my friends and classmates in school. I feel comfortable guiding students and helping them with problem solving. I like to do research on problems i can not resolve and i try to solve them within a reasonable amount of time. There are different ways of going about solving a problem. There are chat rooms on chatzilla, google, netbeans.org and tutorials which guide one to the solution. I use the combination of all. I also carry my laptop around where ever possible. Work for me never ends. I am working 24/7. I take my programming skills and career very seriously and wouldn't jeopardize it in any circumstance. At the same time i am lenient, love diversity and a good joke. Tutoring is fun because you become a problem solver and a student all over again. I like working one-on-one with students, helping them to identify what they already know about a subject or topic and then logically building that up, step-by-step, into what they need to know. Finding a way to explain a concept in terms each individual can understand is the challenge. When students have difficulty in a class, it is often because the textbook doesn't speak to them and the teacher doesn't have time to explain it individually to each and every student. Additionally, many students simply need extra time for guided practice of a concept, time to ask questions and double check what they are doing, before they are comfortable doing it on their own in a classroom or test setting.
