I have been a teacher for the last fifteen years. I teach social studies, but my specialization is teaching argumentative (college level) writing.I have done plenty of SAT prep and tutoring for students at the high school and college level. My style of education is to teach by modeling. Students need to see things in a step-by-step format with instructions, followed by an immediate example. ASVAB SPECIALIST. A VETERAN HELPING FUTURE VETERANS.

I started tutoring the ASVAB in 1996. I had just been honorably discharged. A young friend of mine was having Difficulty with the exam but was motivated towards joining. She had tried a tutor that was attending college but It was not working. In less than eight hours contact time, l was able to get her scores high enough to work as a Operation Specialist for the Navy. I have sinced successfully helped recruits raise test scores starting as low as 14 (AFQT). Some of my students have earned scores high enough to be considered for officer programs.

Previous nursing tutor at Dutchess Community College, Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Have compiled multiple Power Points over the years which explain concepts in simple terms and which have illustrations of concepts which will not be found in nursing textbooks. Unfortunately, nursing textbooks tend to be a faceless landscape which is presented to the student with many complex concepts. It is important that the student be able to visualize the concepts as nursing is all about understanding and not memorization.
