A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, I have been well prepared in my chosen fields. I have bachelor degrees in both Exercise & Sport Science: Fitness, and Spanish, through which I have acquired a vast knowledge of health and fitness. I have also studied abroad in Spain, and lived and worked in Lima, Peru for 6 months upon graduation from college. This has exposed me to the Hispanic culture, increased my Spanish skills, and given me experience teaching English to speakers of other languages. In addition, I have gained extensive reading and writing skills, along with a thorough knowledge of music/music theory throughout my education.

I don't have a style. I try to go with the flow. What that means is I assess what the students know, what they don't know, and what they need to know and adjust what I teach and how I teach it accordingly. I can go over/review information as many times as students need it. It is important to go back to the old information that was learned and review it, so students keep adding to what they know as they learn new information. If the students know the old information, then I don't review it as much or as long as I would if they were having problems with remembering the old information that was taught. I try to give each student what they need, based on their deficiencies and their questions.

As a graduate of the University of Saint Thomas, I have an English degree and am a few classes/credits short of a Business Administration degree. At Bethel University I pursued a Secondary Education teaching certificate. Seeing an opportunity to teach high school english in Texas, I pursued teaching and volunteer teaching while living and working in Texas.
