I am a highly motivated and organized teacher with a passion for teaching students of all ages. I recently worked as a long term music substitute at Hamburg Area High school in Hamburg, Pa. There I taught beginner guitar, chorus, piano and coached the drama club. This past summer I taught remedial reading during the summer school session at Hamburg. I believe subjects need to be looked at in an interesting way and a way that the student can relate to. Everyone learns differently and it just takes finding that one way that each student learns best. I feel that everyone can do well in anything they put their mind to. I am a graduate of York College of Pennsylvania. I obtained a BS in Chemistry and a minor in Math. I have always had a good understand of the sciences and mathematics. I have learned good written skills due to many research papers and laboratory reports. Throughout college I was a laboratory assistant for a physical chemistry lab and helped prepare the chemicals for the organic chemistry labs.

I like to incorporate a sense of humor in my teaching - I believe when children can relax they are much more open to learning. I am also sensitive to children's different learning styles whether they are visual, auditory or kinesthetic, and tailor my approach accordingly. No two sessions are ever the same! Each student has unique needs and challenges and my job is to work "through the maze" and carry the message to the brain. I try to use practical and relevant examples whenever I can and appeal to the student's personal frame of reference so the goal of really "learning" versus "memorizing" can be met.
