Through the Teaching Academy I was in I learned all of the different the different teaching styles and how to teach them. I personally like the student to have structure but I understand they are young and need a little patience and time and with help and practice they will get it! As a tutor, I find that it is important to present the material to the students in a way that they can relate to. My job as an educator is to teach them how to learn it and make them want to learn it. I personally do not believe that negative reinforcement is beneficial. Positive responses to students are extremely valuable, even if they may occasionally give the wrong answer. This will give them the motivation to do well. A Little Bit About Me...

When I was in elementary school I would help my mother with daycare at our home. I would teach the children new concepts and play with them. During high school I joined the pathfinder club and taught some of the younger children. During college, I tutored elementary children in reading and in math and would make interventions for them. I graduated from Southern Adventist University December 2018 with a bachelors in elementary education. I have spent time substitute teaching in elementary classrooms, working as a behavior teachers assistant, and working at summer camps.
