I am an Electrical Engineer currently working for IBM as an logic design engineer. I have tutoring experience for 10 years. In my case, I had the good fortune of having teachers from my early school days who helped me strengthen my motive to learn by engaging my mind directly in the educative process. They provided a purpose or rationale to direct my energies towards learning activities to engage in thinking and questioning, and cultivated the inquisitiveness in me. This helped me grapple with the topics’ content and concepts at a more substantive and intellectually challenging level. It also helped me better understand on how to relate lessons to our lives and provided a roadmap to know where I was leading and what to expect along the way. Hidden Talents Tutoring

After graduating from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire with a degree in computer science, I started tutoring in the Academic Skills Center at UWEC and discovered this was a hidden talent. My instinctive use of the Socratic method earned praise from the director right away. From 1980-1989 I worked as a Program Coordinator for a Developmental Achievement Center for mentally handicapped adults. My responsibilities included teaching, preparing learning materials for basic reading, personal finance, and vocational skills, implementing behavior programs, supervising 7 staff members, and writing quarterly lesson plans and progress reports. I also spent a couple of hours per week for 2 years, tutoring my blind supervisor on the use of computers. In 1992, I went back to college to pursue my true passion, and earned a degree in mathematics and computer science. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. My main interests and degree lie in medical sciences. I have a Bachelors of biomedical sciences degree with chemistry and psychology minors. However, I enjoy tutoring a broad range of subjects and having been able to tutor for the past eight years in subjects such as math, science, social studies, English, music, I have been able to maintain a general knowledge of these subjects.
