SAT - Verbal is one of my top subjects! I have taught several SAT prep courses and I have helped many students to raise their SAT scores. I teach English, reading and writing to students entering college from around the globe. I am patient and understanding. I know the tests very well and have learned many strategies to rasie your score!
In my experience, the majority of students are highly motivated. This is, for me, the key to success. However, very often, students require assistance with a wide range of ‘remediation’ in many of life’s basic competencies: a skill set that includes such issues as time management, test taking, study habits, and, sometimes, acculturation. My teaching methodology follows these simple steps:
Step 1: Motivation
Step 2: Definition & Understanding of terms
Step 3: Explanation, exploration, discussion, debate
Step 4: Questions & Answers
Step 5: Practice: Time & Effort
Step 6: Demonstration (or proof)
