I like to tell people that i did not choose teaching; rather I believe it chose me. I have always worked with children that were struggling whether it was socially or academically. I was typically working with what are known as the "at risk" students. However, I eventually found my way into the classroom as It was noticed that I had a natural ability to balance teaching in the content area and managing behaviors. As an active member of Mensa International and someone who's consistently done well in number-related fields, I've come to love teaching what I can understand. I perceive the world in a very unique way and I excel at using my perspective to help my students understand what others typically have difficulty imparting to them. It's imperative to listen and understand a students challenges. Reviewing their previous work and giving a current test is a good indicator of the situation. I believe in practice and examples as the clearest path to success. I don't hand deliver answers and I make the process towards answers engaging.
