Recent Graduate Looking To Help

I am a recent graduate of Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania (May 2011). I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a concentration in creative writing. I also have a minor in photography. During my time at Mercyhurst College, I worked as a writing tutor in the school’s writing center. When students entered the center, it was my job to immediately make them feel comfortable by greeting them with a friendly smile and asking what I could help them with. I believe in starting from the beginning and taking one step at a time, and not moving on to the next step until the current one is understood -- a surprisingly uncommon approach. I create a positive atmosphere and help students to be responsible first to themselves and then to their community. I also try to make my students aware of their potiential and guide them in processing information by first understanding the context in which it is used. A Little Bit About Me...

I have been at Pennfield High School for almost 6 months now and I have learned how to incorporate the new standards into the curriculum.
