My comments on tutoring Painting : Studied color theory, design, and scene painting for theater. Worked with oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, pastel and experimented medium (nail polish). I prefer to worked with less fumed or messy materials for safety.

power point outlined, sketchbook assignments, final compositions
My education involve intensive studies in both the fine arts and theater. I went from basic drawing and design, to painting, building models, to paintings set for theater. I worked in 10 productions for Subversive Theater Collective and was a volunteer coordinator for an arts festival while living in Buffalo. I'm currently working with my fiance's in his film "Receptions," as both scenic artist and actress. Creativity is a major passion of mine for many year and I to pass my skills down to you.

I believe that education should present as much material to the student as possible, which includes using various textbooks, lecture, and inquiry. After that, it will be up to the student to assess and construct the information given in order to form his/her own opinion about the subject matter. True education and learning is ownership of the subject matter which comes through effort and discipline and a little bit of guidance.
Since April 2007, I have been a substitute teacher at both the Watkins Glen High School and Middle School. Frequent subjects include English, Psychology, and Physical Education. I belong to a writers group which meets at the local library every first and third monday. I belong to a chess club that meets at a coffee shop every Thursday. I also assistant coach varsity and college soccer during the spring and fall seasons.

My teaching experience ranges from serving as a special education itinerant teacher (SEIT) for young children with special needs to teaching high school English. I am certified in PreK-6 elementary education, English, and special education. While I spent the majority of my teaching career bolstering language skills, specifically reading comprehension and writing, I also taught algebra and biology to high school students as a resource room teacher. Equipped with improved study skills, students have strategies that make them more successful in understanding more sophisticated content.
All children and adolescents can successfully acquire and process new information. Finding a child’s learning style is crucial in order to address their academic needs. I am capable of providing the tools a child needs whether it is visual, verbal, kinetic, and intrapersonal or any other learning style. I feel it is very important to teach foundations and mastery especially in math and reading. With these fundamentals in place, education is truly attainable for any child.

In February 2011, I will be finished my MBA in Healthcare Management, which has broadened my knowledge in business courses, such as economics, accounting, marketing and finance. I am interested in tutoring because I love teaching regardless of the subject matter. I’ve been lucky enough to be given the opportunity to try several different content areas such as Special Education 7th grade Science in a Push-In model, ESOL, Home and Careers, Career and Financial Management as well as substitute teaching in many areas K-12, in addition to teaching technology in multiple districts. My background as a manufacturing engineer gives me a vantage point of what is required in the real world for success and survival in the working world. Even though teaching is my second career, it is truly what I love to do. Working one to one with students to help them find success in school, while enjoying learning, is my personal goal.
