A Little Bit About Me...

I love working with children and with adults. I especially enjoy watching a child's eyes light up when something makes sense. I value the constructivist approach to learning and encourage learning through exploration. I provide as comfortable a learning atmosphere as possible, knowing that students learn best when the least stressed. I am confident each student can learn and succeed; I am determined to find the most effective way to connect a student with new skills and understanding, knowing that each person has a way he or she learns best.
My original interest was teaching instrumental music. Although I changed majors and ultimately graduated with a BS in Computer Science, I have continued my interest in teaching, first by volunteer tutoring during college and later by helping adults learn to speak English.
