Jessica D. - Athens, GA 30609 (22.8 mi) - Violin Tutor - $12.50/hr.
I played violin for seven years in school and private lessons. I try to use various activities and techniques when teaching to keep students interested. This also helps them (and me) to determine the way(s) that they learn best. Overall, I want to create a friendly yet effective environment for optimal teaching and learning. I am a second year student at the Universtiy of Georgia. I taught private violin lessons to middle schoolers from the fall of 2010 through the summer of 2011, and I myself have received seven years of private instruction. Lissa K. - Athens, GA 30606 (26.4 mi) - Violin Tutor - $35.00/hr.
I played the violin throughout my youth from the age of 8 until I was 20. I recently picked it back up seriously again, and currently am playing with the Athens Symphony. I studied with master teachers in my youth and have played with many ensembles and symphonies as well been a featured soloeist in my younger performing days. Suzuki and beyond 12 years serious playing and 12 years casual playing. Although I took quite a long break from playing seriously I continued to pick up the instrument and practice on my own for pleasure. Recently, I decided to pick it up more seriously and auditioned to play with the Athens Symphony. I currently sit in the 1st violin section.
