I am a second year student at the Universtiy of Georgia. I taught private violin lessons to middle schoolers from the fall of 2010 through the summer of 2011, and I myself have received seven years of private instruction. I have experienced numerous auditions, concerts, and other performances, as well as traveled with my high school chamber orchestra to Washington, D.C. and Savannah, Georgia. My comments on tutoring Reading Comprehension : I have a Masters in Teaching in English which includes extensive experience in Reading instruction for a wide range of readers including students with dyslexia. I have classroom-tested, hands-on reading strategies to engage and encourage reluctant and struggling readers to make sense of the text.

I have taught 6th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students. I expect hard work and dedication. I use classroom-tested teaching strategies that include but are not limited to role-play, reader-response, kinesthetic and tactile movement, drawing, and holistic engagement in the "story-world" to help students understand and connect to the literature. I received my English degree in the spring of 2011. I stayed at Purdue University, completing my Student Teaching in the fall of 2011. I received my certification to be a Secondary English Teacher in Jan of 2012 and have kept it up to date since. I worked in South Korea for four years (2012-2016), teaching a wide range of students English. I have a lot of experience with ADD/ADHD students as I am one. I am also experienced with Asperger's as I was diagnosed with it in college.

I earned a bachelor of science degree in chemistry with a minor in math. I worked for US Dept. of Agriculture as a methods development chemist which required a knowledge of chemistry, physics, math and statistics as well as high level computer skills. I have taught classes for over 15 years at Athens Area Technical College, University of Georgia Continuint Education Program and as owner and lead trainer for Athens Computer Training, Inc.
I have taught classes for students ranging from high school to adult with course material from the very basic to highly advnced concepts. I was known for covering curriculum material in a through and patient manner. My teaching style could best be described as a pyrimid approach, a firm understanding of basic principles before moving to the next level of complexity.
