I love piano and schoolwork

I have been a math, science, history, and music tutor since high school. I conduct for a church choir and have taken piano lessons for many years. I a currently taking advanced lessons with my college professor. Being a part of many organizations in high school has made college a wonderful experience thus far. I was taught how to study and learn to my benefit, and I would love to help a child learn how to appreciate school and/or music.
I teach on a basic level. I like to know what the student wants to get out of a session and whether the topic is interesting. I love to help a student learn to love school and music through tutoring sessions.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught in all elementary grade levels. I taught preschool for 2 years, taught kindergarten 1 year, taught 7-8 grade remedial Math for 1 year. I then taught in the same K-12 school for 28 years. I taught the 4th grade for 26 years where I taught English, Reading, Writing, and Social Studies. I was the writing KERA trainer and portfolio writing leader and trainer for my school. I was selected as Teacher of the Year for my school 2 times. I was on the Site Based Decision Making Council for 2 terms. I am retired and was a substitute teacher for 5 years.
I feel each child is unique, so their learning style is unique. I have been teaching privately and in select groups for 8 years now. Have experience as a pianist since age 4, and an experienced guitarist and vocalist for 10 years. Have been through many years of lessons and competitions relating to performance and hav also participated in 2 years of marching and concert band as a 1st chair trumpet player.
