When the conventional has not worked!!!

I have worked in schools in Kentucky and Ohio. I have been a tutor, intervention aide, long term substitute teacher, and regular classroom teacher. I communicate freely with my students, and am always ranked among the most well-liked and effective instructors by my students. My best skill is helping students find what is in it for them to learn and use the material. I currently teach (adjunct) at a career College where I teach English, history, strategies for success, and communications classes.
Student-centered, Co-intentional. I believe that the key to learning is the motivation to want to learn. Once that has been accomplished, just stand back and guide the student to what they want next.

A Little Bit About Me...

Very student based instruction, focused on helping the student come to the answer him/herself.
I have two Bachelor's degrees and a law degree. I am qualified to teach all areas of social sciences, and comfortable with most subjects through the high school level. I have had experience with tutoring through employment as a nanny. As the daughter of an illerate parent, I have learned the value of being able to read and that of an education. My education is the second most important thing to me. I am the single mother of two children, in order to support them while attaining my degree I cleaned houses. This experience only solidified , in my mind, the importance of education. While pursuing my degree in English, I learned how to communicate my thoughts through writing and researching for various papers in different subjects.
