A Little Bit About Me...

My name is Alex and I have Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Engineering from Kansas State University. I graduated from Bishop Miege High School. I scored a 34 on the ACT and I have 5 years of tutoring experience at KSU in subjects such as Geometry, Trigonometry and College Algebra all the way to Differential Equations. I am currently tutoring 5 different students for the ACT and each have shown a 3-5 point improvement in their test scores since they began their sessions with me.
Based on my experience, I believe that anyone has the capability to learn and expand their knowledge on a subject - if they put the work in. When I had the opportunity to design and teach a Vo-Tech. School program from the ground up, I realized my love and passion for teaching and making a difference in the lives of my students. Being semi-retired with lots of time available, I am living out my passion by substitute teaching middle and high school students in my local school district. With a rich science and english background, I feel I can make a difference by helping those less fortunate academically in many areas.

I have been tutoring for many years with different kinds of children. To begin with, I tutored my younger sister starting when she was about seven years old to age twelve or thirteen. In high school, I also volunteered for an after-school program for Hispanic children ages seven-twelve where I helped them with their homework in various subjects.
