My comments on tutoring ADD/ADHD : I am a special education teacher and have worked with many students with ADD/ADHD.

From my experience, I have realized that students learn faster and retain the information they learned longer if a tactile, hands-on approach is used. Currently, I teach K-5 students, and no matter what I'm teaching, I try to turn it into an educational game where the students are up and moving and having fun while learning. Each one exceeded my expectations and learned far more than anyone could have imagined. I truly believe in finding the style of learning that suits each student, and pursuing that particular route. And I have found that you can include each learning style by using a tactile approach. It is extremely simple to add in visual and auditory components within hands-on activities. I have several years of experience working in the field of education. My primary role has been as a K-8 special education teacher. I have worked in various capacities in this position, including co-teaching middle school English, providing resource support to first-grade students, and serving as a K-2 autism teacher. In addition to my classroom experience, I have tutored several clients with ADHD/ADD and specific learning disabilities in reading, math, and study skills. Overall, my experience has given me a strong foundation in special education and a deep understanding of how to support students with diverse learning needs.
