A Little Bit About Me...

My passion for the arts drives everything I do, from education to the practice of art. Being an academically trained artist has taught me the value of knowing the masters of art history and the importance of passing on the knowledge. Also, with art being hands-on craft, I strongly believe in “getting in there and getting your hands dirty”. Art is all about trying and seeing what works and it is my job to help the student find what works for them and to create a signature style.
While attending the University of Minnesota, I deepened my relationship with the visual arts. I believe in a teaching style that reflects a student's learning style. Whether they learn best by hearing, seeing, or doing it is important to cater to the student. My teaching style works around this philosphy and tends to be a combination of all 3 styles.
Although I have recently graduated with a degree in business, I am interested in pursuing a career involving people. My previous employment was a sales position that was very customer-oriented. I also have 3 years of experience helping children by teaching swimming lessons. Assisting my 15-year-old sister with her school work is also a regular activity.
