I am a very interactive teacher. I want feedback so I can see the progress the student is making. If they are not getting something, I make adjustments and change tactics. I teach tot he student(s). My comments on tutoring Elementary Grammar : A good foundation in grammar is important. I help students to find this interesting.

I believe a strong emphasis on spelling, grammar and comprehension is key to future learning. I approach these subjects from different angles so that it does stay interesting. I believe in bolstering self confidence and yet encourage students to put effort into their lessons.
I have taught grades 3 and six as part of my internship in Messina, New York. I tutored third grade children in remedial reading as a private business. After raising my own children and working in industry I returned to teaching. I taught ESL to adults in Boston, MA and as part of Literacy,Inc in Escondido, CA. If you don't like the results, I haven't done my job.

I won the state championship in the 100 meters and went to Adams State College in Alamosa CO. Broke a leg in track and received withdrawn F across the board. Left college and healed up. Went to the Army two years and reserve three years. Came back and picked up the quickest degree possiable. Moved to Hawwaii, three years. Became a ciritified dept of defense government contractor. Furnish and deliver contracts. Ended up moving back home to Albuquerque NM. I started working in the Indian Casinos for 13 years. I bought a house and retired. But now I'm tired of sitting around.

Experienced Tutor

I began tutoring my freshman year of high school. For my fours year of high school I worked at Kumon Learning Center in Los Angeles. Here, I learned a lot of my tutoring experience. I worked with children from the ages of 5 to 17. I helped these children in math from kindergarten math all the way up to calculus, and then in reading and reading comprehension skills from the younger kindergarteners to younger high schoolers. I enjoy working with children and try to teach children in a fun way so they do not become bored and can learn to really understand and grasp concepts. I also enjoy working with teenagers and am confident that I can help all high schoolers with different subjects they struggle with. The reason why I left Kumon Learning Center is because I moved down to San Diego to begin my freshman year of college, so I am now looking forward to continue my tutoring career down here.
