My strengths are with all children, they are my passion. I love inspiring and motivating students to learn. I try to actively engage students in learning by using a variety of activities, projects, and manipulatives. In addition I have been able to use reading strategies to help students achieve a successful year of learning. I am an open and friendly teacher, with a bit of a funny bone at times. My passion is working with children of all ages. I believe all children can learn and it depends on how you approach their learning. If a child is not learning, I need to re-evaluate how I go about teaching. I am very patient and have an outgoing personality. I believe that you must teach to the whole child before true learning can happen.
I have been a classroom teacher for 9 years. All 10 of my years out of school have been in the education field. My first year out of college I taught at an unaccredited private school, and then at an accredited day care center. The next 7 years were at a public school. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style completely depends on the learner. In a classroom setting, I am fairly relaxed and ensure that students feel confident and able to communicate without fear. My lessons address each of the learning styles so that every student has the opportunity to utilize their strengths when it comes to processing information. In a one-on-one setting, I tend to teach mostly to the style of the individual student. However, I vary the methods of that style to prevent monotony. I still utilize the non-dominant learning styles so students can begin to develop a holistic approach to learning, but if something flat out does not work, I will try a different approach.
