I teach so I can empower the individule to create a goal that can be attained. I have a stregth based approach, which gives the one I am teaching a positive outlook at what they can achieve. My focus is to empower the student to achieve their goals and to make the choice to further their education with enformed guidelines.
As a Social Worker I came in contact with young adults who have dropped out of school because of becoming young parents, drug use, and or a lack of support from parents. My initial contact was to address child abuse and or neglect but I quickly recognized the bigger picture included their inability to process information because of a lack of education. I started a parenting class to give them a safe place to start looking at these issues.

A Little Bit About Me...

My drive for knowledge enabled me to complete three degrees by the age of 22. I have high grades in all my classes as well as the extra science and writing classes I take on the side. I have a AAST in environmental science and technology, a BA in marine science and environmental studies, and will have my BS in one quarter. As well as being a full time student except for the summertime I tutor people in need of a little extra help. I have tutors ages from 6-25 and people with disabilities as well.
