I served both as a tutor at the Center of Teaching and Learning (CTL) and as an academic peer advisor for the college of Arts and Sciences at the University of Alabama. At the university, i gave lectures in science courses including chemistry, physics, and mathematics. I know when a student is confused or bored and i know how to change the teaching style to keep them focused. A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy working with students of all ages, although most of my experience has been with middle school age and older. I use a couple of different techniques to help students understand math, including using visual aides, problem solving techniques, role reversal (where they explain a lesson to me), blackboard/whiteboard work, and games. I believe it's really the responsibility of the tutor to understand the student's learning style and adjust the teaching to fit the learning style.
