I deeply enjoy teaching children from all different age groups, cultural, social and economic backgrounds. I believe that patience and working with each child to find their own unique way of learning is fundamental to the teaching process. A Little Bit About Me...

While obtaining my Master's degree I had the chance to study many different subjects as well as tutor student from Kindergarten to undergraduates in many areas of study. I received 2 Bachelors degrees in International Affairs and Art History and studied several different languages that will make me well rounded tutor. A Little Bit About Me...

I earned my bachelor degree in Communications and Creative Writing (double major), which has attributed to my excellent verbal communication skills as well as my writing skills. I've worked in a variety of environments from a newspaper to a radio station, in addition to my course work which emphasized research and reading for comprehension. As the poetry editor of FSU's literary magazine and the assistant editor of FSU's newspaper, I organized others into creative and critical ways of thinking and processing.
My mother is a reading development teacher. She works with Title 1 children every day in her job. As a teacher/tutor, I find that being a good listener and paying attention to students needs creates a successful learning environment. Every child acquires information differently and their ways of learning should be respected. By creating lessons based on exciting, "real world" applications, students are more accepting to the content at hand.
I graduated from Florida State University in 2004 with a B.A. in Spanish and Italian with a minor in French. I have been tutoring with the Modern Language Department since 2001 and tutor in all three languages. I also spent a month in Spain teaching English to native Spanish speakers. As an undergraduate, I was involved with the America Reads program, where I was a reading coach/language arts tutor to elementary and middle school children. I am also qualified in tutoring basic math and college prep math.
