A Little Bit About Me...

I have experience in hands on teaching of students with their horses. I have worked on and off for many years helping memebers of local 4-H clubs prepare their animals for show. I enjoy seeing a student "click" with their project and be able to accomplish new goals. I think it is important to set specific goals for aech student and make those happen before you move on.
As a graduate of Wheeling Jesuit University in General Science Physics, I have completed extensive coursework in the areas of math, science, and engineering. The first thing that I like to do as a teacher is tell my students why I chose my profession. I think a little insight as to who I am, lets my students know how passionate I am about my job. All students do not learn in the same ways, nor do they learn at the same paces. It is my job to build upon my students' strengths, and make them believe that they can succeed.
I received my BS degree with the intent of gaining a MA in teaching. While I was obtaining my MA, I performed as a substitute teacher in several school districts. I had access to 2 long-term teaching positions. The first was for high school special education in history and the second was for 8th grade language arts. I did teach 1 full year as an intervention specialist for a junior high.

I have a passion for teaching. I love to teach children and young adults. I have always been the teacher to help the struggling students, because at one time I was that student. I understand the encouragement and one on one that learners need. I understand that each of us have our own learning styles and I as a teacher have to understand that to help each student achieve their highest potential.
I have a degree in both Elementary and Special Education with a concentration in History. In the past nine years, I have taught Kindergarten for seven years and fifth grade for two years.
