A Little Bit About Me...

I hold an AA and BA in Political Studies and I am currently working towards my Master of Arts in Political Science specializing in political philosophy and theory. I am simultaneously working towards my graduate certificate in Women and Gender Studies focusing on critical theory. Studying philosophy in conjunction with political science has allowed me to acquire skills pertaining to statistics, basic math, writing and research, and critical thinking. Since earing my degree in CIS I have had 10 years of industry experience as well as having worked as a substitute teacher in both the Galesburg (CUSD #205, 200-2001) and Peoria (District 150,2007-Present) School Districts.

A Little Bit About Me...

I don't believe in giving a student the answers to their questions. Rather, I think it is important to help them find the answers themselves--understanding the process will enable them to perform on their own. For example, rather than editing a student's paper, I will go through it line by line and have them help me find the errors.
I have a very strong background in writing. My experience includes my graduate research and thesis, news writing for a tv station, in addition to 6 years of writing for academia. I spent a semester in Pau, France and can tutor beginning to intermediate level students. I graduated with a 3.9 GPA in high school, college and graduate school.
