While studying at the University of Oklahoma, I became interested in tutoring and helping those less fortunate. I began tutoring at a program called Tuesday Tutors which provides free-of-charge tutoring to all students Junior High level and above (although we often helped out Elementary students who stopped by). I also became active in ESL/Literacy tutoring. I tutored ESL for 7 months prior to graduating. I have now graduated with three Bachelor degrees and am now seeking a Master's in Philosophy. I still tutor whenever I get the chance and am currently helping an ADHD/Dyslexic student to boost his reading level.

A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching has always been something that I've greatly enjoyed. Whether it was helping a special needs student read, or an undergraduate history student finish a term paper, I appreciate the opportunity to help others achieve academic success. When working with students, I exercise a great deal of patience. I am also a firm believer in allowing students to achieve their potential through hard work. I find the best way to do this is by asking questions that lead the student to the answer. The proverbial "light bulb" that the student reaches when he realizes that he does indeed know the answer is very rewarding for both the teacher and the student.
