In high school I tutored junior high students who were having trouble in with school. After high school I joined the U.S Navy, where I trained junior personal for three years. I used my G.I bill Benefits to attend the University of Connecticut, where I received my Bachelors in History with a minor in Political Science. I stayed at the UConn to complete my Masters in Education where I complete 15 weeks of student teaching. Most recently I have worked as a substitute teacher at both the middle and high school level.

A Little Bit About Me...

Since April 2007, I have been a substitute teacher at both the Watkins Glen High School and Middle School. Frequent subjects include English, Psychology, and Physical Education. I belong to a writers group which meets at the local library every first and third monday. I belong to a chess club that meets at a coffee shop every Thursday. I also assistant coach varsity and college soccer during the spring and fall seasons.
I believe that education should present as much material to the student as possible, which includes using various textbooks, lecture, and inquiry. After that, it will be up to the student to assess and construct the information given in order to form his/her own opinion about the subject matter. True education and learning is ownership of the subject matter which comes through effort and discipline and a little bit of guidance.
