A Little Bit About Me...

I love to help children learn! It is so rewarding to see the reaction of a child who suddenly understands what he has been trying to learn. I try to help my students build confidence in themselves by helping them realize that they do have the ability to learn. I want every child to know he is loved and special.
I have always wanted to be a teacher. I began tutoring while I was still in high school. I earned my BS in Elementary Education in 1980. I have tutored students of all ages in different subjects. Most of my tutoring experience has been in math and reading. I have tutored students for all sections of the Alabama High School Graduation Exam. I have been a homebound and home-school teacher, as well as a classroom teacher.

A Little Bit About Me...

Being that I have spent the majority of my teaching career in a high needs environment, I can honestly say that I teach to the student. However a child best learns is the way in which I teach a subject. No child learns exactly the same, and as a highly qualified educator, it's my responsibility to discover the mode in which a student best learns.
As both salutitorian of my high school graduating class, and a Chancellor Scholar at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, I have the drive, determination, and know how to succeed on any academic playing field and compete with the best of the best. A Little Bit About Me...

I am an individual driven by the desire to learn. I have a Master's in Education with a triple major, certified to teach two of the three. I am currently pursuing a second Master's in Curriculum Instruction and Development with an emphasis in technology based instruction. I have over 15 years of experience writing college level compositions, research papers, term papers and various other written documents. Currently I hold a 3.83 with 15 credits completed in a program in which I write continuously. I enjoy writing and teaching.
