My entire background revolves around teaching. I taught in a Preschool while I was working on my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. While there I worked with all ages from Infants to the School Age children. After completing my degree I then went to teach in a public school. The first year I taught and ran the Preschool Program of about 50 children, ages 3 to 5 years. The next four years I taught third grade where our emphasis was on reading comprehension, analytical thinking skills, and writing. After leaving the public school arena I completed my MBA and then moved on to teaching adults. Lately I have been working at a local hospital instructing Physicians, Nurses, Pharmacists, and Clinic Managers on integrating their new Electronic Health Records program.

A Little Bit About Me...

My first responsibility is the empowerment of my students. I always want my students to have a concrete sense of motivation and what their goals are, even if it's just getting a passing grade. Next, I want my students to believe that they are capable of reaching their goals. If they are capable of performing under one set of circumstances, it's possible to perform under any set of circumstances, especially tests. After that, we get down to the brass tacks of learning: How the student learns best, what strategies we can use, and how much building or remodeling we have to do.
I graduated summa cum laude in the Honors College at Missouri State with a degree in cell and molecular biology and extensive studies in math and physics. I grew up with both partents in the public education system, I was a student-teacher in H.S. and I earned a bachelor degree in Parks, Recreation, Natural Resource Management with a minor in Art Education. After graduation I taught Art and pre-school classes for the Springfield, MO Parks Dept. I was a librarian at the Springfield Art Museum. I worked for the Dept. of Social Services, Div. of Youth Services for 14 years and assisted the teachers with the education ciriculum. I taught Outdoor Stress Challenge Programs to the youth in a rehabilitation program.
