My teaching experiences have had me in classrooms with age groups ranging from preschoolers to adults. I have been able to adapt my teaching style to suit every group and individual I have worked with, as I recognize the importance of an individualistic approach to education. As every individual learns in a different manner, one-on-one studying with an attentive and adaptive tutor can make a significant difference in a pupil’s performance. Children learn in different way, and have different levels of enthusiasm for different subjects. I think that the way to encourage a child's success is to identify the ways in which the students learns best, and to understand what subjects/topics interest them. If you can relate to a child, your ability to motivate them and encourage them is amplified. I like to challenge students and to encourage them to think on their own. I believe positive reinforcement is important to children whose self-esteem might be low due to perceived lack of academic ability.
Through my studies in Environmental issues and Landscape design, I have taken many writing-intensive classes, science courses and geography courses.
