A Little Bit About Me...

I have always been a student who enjoys math and science. At a young age I participated in math competitions and clubs. As I became older I transferred that youthful facility towards my college coursework. Learning mathematics and science through physics gave me a rigorous understanding of mathematics and science, subjects that can sometimes be confusing to students. In recent years I have been a very vocal enthusiast of math and physics, always seeking new demonstrations to share my enthusiasm and knowledge.
I believe that a genuine interest makes the strongest foundation for education. Creativity and a sense of serious play clan create interest in "boring" subjects. My tutoring style includes taking a proactive approach towards assessing the student using a learning style inventory, a study skills inventory, as well as determining their current knowledge base of the particular subject. I will model appropriate learning behavior, addressing the subject matter in a format that is most conducive to the students' learning style, in hopes of effectively reducing the level of their anxiety.
