I've been an informal tutor for as long as I can remember. Typing Skills is one of my top subjects! Starting January 2002 I've been typing about 45 wpm. I took a typing class for computer applications, and I really practiced the typing skills.

I have a semester at high school for computer applications, and I have been using computers since the 2nd grade. A Little Bit About Me...

Based on previous experience I have discovered that the same teaching style does not work for every child. I find that explaining each topic and asking the child question gives a clear indication of their understanding. Based on responses to the questions adjustments may be made to address each child's need.

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that each child has its own learning style, therefore as a tutor you must be able to adapt quickly to the specific needs to every child. I think that the most important thing in tutoring is gaining the attention and confidence that you know what you are doing and talking about.
