I follow the method of G. Polya in his classic work "How to Solve It". By asking the right questions, one can help the student define his problem, form a plan for the solution, carry out the plan, and examine the result. I also try to work as many difficult problems from the student's text as time permits, in order to show that all problems have a solution, and the student can build confidence in attacking any problem. Helping students learn and learn how to grow

My teaching experience is broad across subjects and age levels. Learning and teaching excite me and I like to think that attitude rubs off on my students. A Little Bit About Me...

I taught introductory zoology lab to freshman at Mississippi State University. Then I served in the Peace Corps where I taught daily 13 3 year olds to 15 year olds English, mathematics, and arts and crafts. I also taught basic library skills to all the elementary school classes.
My teaching style is the shrapnel method. I like to use a large variety of techniques - visual, auditory, games, etc - to achieve the same goal. This keeps interest up and allows me to narrow in on the method that is most valuable to a specific student.
