A Little Bit About Me...

I have been in the Information Technology industry for over thirty years working for such companies as American Airlines, Sheraton Hotels, Williams, Harsco, Dollar-Thrifty and Microsoft. I have a BS in Computer Science and have worked in both hardware support and software development. I currently work as an independent consultant providing my customers with the technological skills necessary for the successful completion of their software development projects. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is primarily includes me working right along side the student at all times. I like to provide real world examples whenever possible, and firmly believe in using those examples to help the student understand the bigger picture of what they are learning. In other words, I don’t want to simply teach the student how to do the lesson but also why. I want them to understand the ultimate goal of what they are learning and the underlying reason as I believe this facilitates long-term retention of the material.

I started tutoring part time in 2004 and have continued this throughout college. I worked as a math tutor for tulsa community college part time during the summer. I have earned over 190 hours of college credit, I have two degrees, and I am only 15 hours away from a chemical engineering degree.
I am very adaptive to students learning style. I usually spend the first ten minutes of our first meeting figuring out what the student is struggling with and how to best meet their needs. I try to teach students more how to think analytical more so then just solving problems because it is more beneficial to the student. I feel that if I can teach the student how to read theorems, understand concepts, then problems just become easy at that point.
