My comments on tutoring Communications : I have no problem with communications

As any student who was looking at the future with optimistic vision, I gave all my attention to reach highest degrees of studies. I have gotten a BA in english literature which enabled me to get open to knowledge about all what concerns various subjects, be it linguistics, grammar, composition. these are essential tools that helped in shaping the style and the know-how-to-write. then i got an MBA at JWU. i tutored students in english especially students exhibiting difficulties in english.
Teaching for me is a sort of a key that we give to learners. with this key they open the gates of knowledge and imbibe all fields of wisdon and philosophy. I believe teaching is a big responsibility that we are burdened with.

I most enjoyed teaching young adults and adults as they prepared for tangible competencies and careers. By my encouraging this group of diverse students to help me assess their work through journal writing, they became partners. Native speakers of English, believing that their communication skills were up to par, identified weaknesses and worked at correcting them; for other students, the course served as remedial instruction or a wake-up call.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am a former UConn graduate (1984) with a BS in Marketing. Many of my electives were in mathematics, enabling me to work as a student tutor on campus. I have also completed coursework in anatomy and physiology. In addition to tutoring college level students I have worked with elementary and middle school children in church youth groups, assisting with bible verse memorization and reading skills,as well as staging music productions. My experience also includes homeschooling my own children and assisting in classrooms.
My teaching style is relaxed, but focused. I believe all children can be natural learners, especially when they find something that interests them. Patience is the key with children. I was more of an instructor than a teacher. I was a day camp counselor at Solway House parent/child resort in Saugerties N.Y. I instructed kids how to swim, dive, play various sports and gave dancing lessons to the guests. As a high school student I tutored 7th and 8th graders in an after school community center. I was one of a few staff at the University of Connecticut to instruct graduates and staff in the use of the various electronic facilites available to them.
I feel children are very self-aware and are very vulnerable to positive and negative feedback. Therefore, no matter how little progress is made, praise them.
