Teaching students is a passion and an art. I approach each situation by trying to understand what stress factors are experienced by the students, as well as how they need to be approached to learn. Some students need to have a direct approach, others need to try on their own and then step by step correct their mistakes to both build up confidence for doing well and understand where they went wrong. I have found that there is nothing so rewarding as that moment when a subject 'clicks' for a student. By staying positive and adaptive I believe it is possible to guide students to finding solutions on their own. I work at finding new ways to approach common stumbling blocks and try to show students how applicable math is to everyday life. A Little Bit About Me...

I have always enjoyed tutoring students and seeing them "get" the subjects we are touching on. The look on their face during this moment is priceless. I fully understand that everyone learns things in different ways. While one student may be able to memorize and understand facts one way, say by repetition, another student may learn the information by understanding the background and context that it comes from. I am very patient and flexible with students and realize that if they do not understand the material that it is not their fault, but rather I need to try a different approach with them.
