I also tutored for the Academic Advisement department in algebra, calculus, physics, and economics. I attended graduate school at RIT and was a teaching assistant for calculus classes.

My teaching style is a combination of techniques I found successful during my educational studies. First, I believe the teacher has to be passionate and have a true love for what he or she is doing; this is passion, or lack thereof, is evident when interacting with a student. Second, patience is of upmost importance. In my experience, nothing inhibits learning as much as a rushed or pressured feeling when one is trying to learn. Finally, it is critical to find a way for the student to relate to the material in a way they understand. Each person is different and the teaching style should reflect that; not everyone fits nicely into a cookie cut template of learning. A Little Bit About Me...

I feel as though every student will have their own niche. They will have a special subject that they enjoy the most and one that they despise. I think that figuring out how the child studies for the subject they enjoy will lead to an understanding of how to motivate that student to learn the subjects that are more difficult for them. Also, if the student's teacher stays positive and pushes him or her towards success by means of positive reinforcement they will succeed.
While studying at SUNY ESF I held a position as a teaching assistant for Western Civilization. This involved grading exams and papers, preparing and giving lectures, and holding office hours to assist students with any questions or concerns they may have had. I also spent time volunteering to teach and after school science club through ESF Outreach for elementary / middle school aged children.
