My comments on tutoring MCAT : I'm a rising MS1 at IUSM. PS 12 VR 11 BS 12

I graduated from Valparaiso University with a double major in biology and chemistry, minor in mathematics in 3.5 years. I performed well enough on the MCAT to get into med school and I only took it once. I tutored in Ochem, genchem, physics and math during undergrad. Ive got some simple advice, suggestions for study tools and a smart study method for the MCAT. I wont waste your time by running through flash cards on the endocrine system; you can do that on your own. Ill show you which books to get, which tests to order and you should be ready for the MCAT with little cost.

I have received my Bachelors of Science degree in Biology and Honors Thesis Research at Purdue University. I have recently applied to medical school and taken the MCAT. I have experience in college level physics, chemistry, organic chemistry, and extensive experience in college level biology. I have taught/tutored students at the high school level and I have been a teacher's assistant for a sophomore level biology lab/class. I love teaching and find that I, as well as my students, learn by teaching and interactively asking questions and seeking answers together. I believe that all students learn differently, so I try to use a varied approach of general lecture review, drawing visual aids, asking students to teach me a concept, developing ideas in multiple processes and working through problem sets. I am very laid back, patient and accepting. I know that I learn best using techniques different than others, so if a student is not achieving his or her potential, they simply might need a new technique.
